So, Spring Break is over. x[ But, at least I was able to come back to school all refreshed and recharged. That didn't last long though because I came home EXHAUSTED. I had Yoga at 12:30 - And please note: Yoga is insane. At 4:30 I had English.. I was basically just freaking out the whole time about the German test I was gonna have to take at 6:30. I was gonna go ahead and study my math but I decided to leave that for tomorrow since I have aaall day now! Yep, Psychology 202 is over, it was 16 weeks worth of work stuffed into 8 weeks. I did well though, I think I got an A.. We'll see~!

Anyway, I know you guys don't want to hear about all of my school-boringness. So let's go on to some -real- good news. I finally got around to buying Dr. Jart+~! I love the whole idea of BB Cream. I have absolutely no time on my hands to mess around with applying primer and then painting on my foundation every single day. BB Cream is -like- foundation but much quicker. Just put some on your finger and dab it around your face. You end up with a foundation-concealer combo that leaves your skin bright and dewy.

So, let’s focus on Dr. Jart+ Black Label Detox Healing specifically. I chose this one because it’s pretty much got everything:

Whitening (main ingredient = Arbutin)

UV Protection – SPF 25 (main ingredient = Centella Asiatica Extract – Protection and releif)

Anti-Aging (main ingredient = Coenzyme Q10 – Gives skin tension)

Moisturizer (main ingredient – Hyaluronic)

Concealer (natural beige color)

The consistency of the BB Cream is.. Well, creamy. It’s not like.. Really drippy liquid or anything. It has a bit of a smell that I’m having trouble describing. I guess just a make-uppie smell but a little lighter. The color is definitely nude, and I hear a lot of people say it’s not quite their skin tone. Well, it’s not mine either. x3 But it blends well enough to not be an issue for me. However, if your skin is too light or too dark then I suggest mixing it with a lighter color or a darker color. :D

The before picture with NO makeup on whatsoever. Taken with soft flash.

The after picture. I’m in the exact same light in the exact same spot, my face is just turned slightly.

The coverage is great. You don’t need a massive load to cover your face. It’s also suggested that you work in layers. What I mean by this is that you apply one thin layer after another instead of just loading it all up on your face. This makes it more even and does a better job as a concealer. Which, by the way, it does do a great job as a concealer. It completely covered the crazy redness on my face, reduced the appearance of the dark circles under my eyes, camoflaged the bits of acne I have, and evened out and brightened my skin tone.

Also, I would like to add that before I went to Yoga class I put this stuff on. If any of you have done Yoga you would know how much it’ll kick someone’s butt – HOWEVER.. This stuff fared really well in the midst of all my sweating. If I wiped my forehead it wouldn’t get all over my hands or anything. To me, this is kind of a big deal. I mean, no one wears make up to the gym and for a good reason. First of all that’s just plain rediculous and second it would all come off. Well, the thing is I end up going to the gym looking like some kind of zombie. If any of you are like me, here’s the cure. It’s not like you’re throwing on the mascara and blush or anything before the gym, but at least it’s something to make your skin look more alive.

My one and only complaint is that it seems to make my skin a liiittle oily. Not a lot, but it is something I figured I should point out. This can be remedied with powder or oil-blotting paper. It’s not an issue enough for me to not love it.

Interested? Well, it’s got the Nijiiro no Gomu Seal of Approval~! You can buy it at [Webichi] for $38 USD, but I got a better deal on [eBay]. I believe it was like.. $20-something including shipping. Webichi also has a bunch of other BB Creams by Dr. Jart+. If you’re looking for something with more SPF or something better for Anti-Aging there is a Dr. Jart+ BB Cream for you~! However, I feel that the Black Label Detox one is the most all-purpose and has something in it for everyone.

If you wanna see what other BB Creams are out there, I urge you to check out the above video by [NumNumCookie]. I found this review so helpful that it’s what prompted me to just go ahead and try out Dr. Jart+. But, just to be a more informed person, you -should- know what else is out there. Especially because everyone’s skin has different needs.

Now, I part you with the Song of the Day. I’ve kinda been on a Korean music kick, lately. You know how that is? You get stuck on something for a little while? Hah, oh well. It’s good stuff.

Ugh, God. What a first day of Spring Break I’m having. I foolishly procrastinated to the millionth degree on this huge History assignment that was due uh.. 2 1/2 hours ago (midnight). But, he told us that he really just wants it before he gets to grading, which will probably be around noon tomorrow. So, I’m gonna try to get this thing done in the next hour or so. I needed to write this damn review so I could give my mind a break from this supreme amount of boredom I’m going through. Oh, and just as a side note, the reason why I decided to go a dark color was because I am anxiously awaiting my Dueba Dreamy Violet contacts. Purple is known to really pop out when paired with brown, so what I’m trying to say is that if you’re interested in colored contacts, I will be doing a review on that too. But yes, as you can see, this is my first review. So, I hope you like it. :3

[Palty] ([engrish] for party :P), is a popular Japanese hair dying product brought to you by [Dariya]. It offers a variety of fun colors that is made with Asian hair in mind. The problem with a lot of American hair dying products is that it’s difficult to get much out of it unless you have lighter hair (it’s especially troubling if you have coarse hair to boot). Palty contains bleach, so it lightens your hair as you dye it.

So far, I’ve used Palty’s Mecca Flash Bleach, Honey Brown, and Bitter Cappucino. You could deduce that I must be pretty satisfied with Palty if I keep using it. Here is my list of the pros and cons regarding this brand:

++

1. The overall presentation. Everything is so cute – The box, the instructions, the bottles..

2. The smell~! It doesn’t smell like chemicals. You would think, well it -is- chemicals, what do you want? Not with Palty. It has the most pleasant floral scent. The smell lingers in your hair after you wash it out too, so that’s a plus. :D

3. The comb-nozzle thing you use to glide the dye through your hair is really nifty and useful especially when you want to get closer to the scalp.

4. I don’t find that it burns very much. It has burned slightly before, but I noticed that with the Bitter Cappucino it didn’t burn a bit.

5. I’ve been pretty darn satisfied with the strength of the colors.

6. Considering the fact that it does have bleach in it, it is pretty tame on the hair. My hair isn’t totally fried or anything like that. The tips get a little dry but if you take care of your hair (with products that I will be including later – So stay tuned) it doesn’t seem to be much of a problem.

7. The conditioner that is included is AMAZING.

xx

1. Unless you have impossibly thin hair that is even shorter than shoulder-length, I urge everyone to buy at least 2 boxes. My hair is about an inch past by chin and I thought I could get away with 1 box. I managed to – But barely. I’m really thankful I could squeeze by or that would have been a disaster. x.x Just be safe and get 2.

2. So far, all of the colors I’ve used tend to have this brassy tone. I don’t mind it so much, but if you’re one of those people who could do without it, this probably isn’t the dye for you.

3. I’m in LOVE with the conditioner that it comes with, but there’s barely ANYTHING in it. Honestly, that’s fine. I just wish they would release an actual shampoo/conditioner line. That’s something I would buy.

This is my before picture. Notice that my hair is pretty light – So I do encourage you to lighten your hair too in order to get the color that is most accurate to the one on the box.

With flash in direct, white light

With flash, light isn’t as direct.

I am quite pleased with the outcome. I think the brown looks very rich, healthy, and alive. A lot browns are just too dull. I had bought a brown by this one American brand (I can’t remember which one~!) but it was just like.. This brown-charcoal color that completely washed me out. This color has the right amount of caramel tones to compliment any skin tone, in my opinion.

Tips

1. If you’re interested in buying Palty hairdye (or any other Japanese product as far as I’m concerned) go to [Webichi]. I buy from there if I want to buy more than one product. The prices are completely reasonable and they always give you a bunch of free samples – I really look forward to them. :B However, if you want to buy -just- the hairdye, I recommend [eBay].

2. Remember, unless your hair is really thin and short, buy at LEAST two boxes.

3. Try not to wash your hair for about two days before you dye your hair. The oil that builds up in your hair will protect it from damage.

4. If you can’t read Japanese go [here] for instructions in English.

5. When applying the dye to your hair, comb frequently. This makes it easier to see if you’ve missed any spots and also to keep the color even.

6. When you’re done applying the dye, put on a shower cap. Then, take it a step further and wrap a towel around your head. This will insulate the heat, big time. Since these dyes do have bleach in it, it’s heat activated, so it’ll start working faster.

NOTE: I left the hair dye in a little over 3 hours. I know, that’s a long time for some.. But it’s worth it. Sometimes I leave it in even for longer.

Now, for the song of the day. Enjoy. <3
